This very beautiful and unusual shell bracelet has a wonderful array of shimmering mother of pearl shells, in greens and blues.  Strung on a round linked type wrist chain with a flat press fastening. Comes with matching petal shaped clip on earrings.  All in a silver tone setting and in excellent vintage condition.

ABALONE - are small to very large sized edible sea snails.  Common names for Abalone also include ear shells, sea ears and mutton fish. The flesh of the Abalone is widely considered to be a desirable dish and is consumed raw or cooked.  Their shells have a tortoise-like appearance, pearlescent on the inside.  The inside material (mother of pearl) is scraped away, sliced thin and used as an inlay on a variety of jewellery pieces, furniture, guitars etc.  The eye-catching iridescent effect achieved when workmanship is complete, is evident in this wonderful two piece jewellery set, with no two shells being the same.
